Cyber forensics and threat investigations have rapidly emerged as a new field of research to provide the key elements for maintaining the security, reliability, and trustworthiness of the next generation of emerging technologies, such as the Internet of Things, cyber-physical systems, cloud/edge/fog computing, software-defined networking, and network function virtualization. Complex measures must be taken in an appropriate and timely manner to address any threats detected within these systems. Furthermore, new frameworks are needed to collect and preserve potential evidentiary data in an appropriate and timely manner as well. This is essential to ensure effective cyber defenses and strategies against the expanding landscape of criminal activities and rapidly advancing emerging technologies.
The main goal of this workshop is to bring together researchers and practitioners working in the fields of cyber forensics and threat investigations for emerging infrastructures, with the aim of sharing current research issues and advancements. Original technical papers describing new, state-of-the-art research will be considered. The workshop welcomes submissions that evaluate existing research results by reproducing experiments. The aim of this workshop is to provide insights for the discussion of major research challenges and achievements across various topics of interest.
